1976 F1 Season - Round 9 Great Britain Brands REPORTS
#1
Started P15, finished P13 oops P14. Never got comfortable and consistent. But had a great multi-lap battle with Tim. I lead several laps by 5 or so seconds. It varied up or down a few seconds by whomever got sloppy on what lap. He pitted first so gave me a big gap which lasted for 10 or so laps until I did what I swore I never do... I pitted. This put us right back together with me again ahead by 5ish. But on lap 34 I spun (span?? hehe) on the T1 downhill and the gap closed to feet. I fought him off for several laps but eventually went deep into T2 and he got by. I burned up my tires and will trying to make him bobble which he never did and eventually opened up a multi second gap. When I saw I was about to be lapped for the second time I slowed early to let the leader by before the S/F line so I could give my nerves and ass a break!

Good racing Tim!
