Hi all,
Today 2 years ago, is the day Dani, Bryan and Paul started Simracers4Life, formerly know as A.R.I.
Thanks to them for what has been an amazing ride, with a game that was still in beta for most of the time.
SR4L quickly became a group of members, evolving like groups do but most of all, being friendly and forgiving and catering to all sorts of drivers, fast and less fast.
For me personally, I haven't been around since the beginning but it was soon clear to me, after some practice sessions using Historic F3 at Monza, that this was a great group to race with, using the mod I personally liked the most. Niko persuaded me into joining this gang (after a long simrace sabbattical) and I never regret it. Not even when he crashes me out.
So thanks to the initial starters of this league and to the people that came and still come along, whether they stick or not, without you it wouldn't even be possible for us to celebrate this 2 years anniversary. 8)
I would also like to take this oppurtunity to congratulate Bryan with his birthday. Hope you read this.
Cheers all,
Marcel.

Hi all,
Due to the join-button saga, we are postponing SR4L's 1960s F1 league round 13 @Zolder for 2 weeks.
We are still not sure when the fixed build will be released and we don't want to clash with USR's schedule so the next league race will be held Sunday 23-3-2014
Cheers,
Marcel.

...about last events.
We have seen some great racing here but we also hear more complaints than ever and there have been people quitting from this league because of driver behaviour. We never have been very keen on handing out penalties, it's not what you would expect to be necessary in a fun-league series. I think we have managed a pretty good standard up till now but we still see things go horribly wrong, mainly when it comes to passing and people rejoining track after an incident.
Therefore I posted a ''Sim Racing Etiquette Guide'' over at Rules/Regulations section of this forum. You can find it http://here
This is a required read for everyone participating in SR4L events.
Don't go like ''This is a way too long read, I don't have time, I have read this somewhere else before''. It's there to be read and contains a lot of usefull information which you will need to absorb and practise at the next events.
Talking about information, I don't know how many times I (and others) have answered questions like ''how many laps'' ''do we need to pit'' etc. This makes me scratch my head because it's all to be read at the event's announcement, which is a required read before you enter the server.
Back to Sim Racing Etiquette and our last events:
Here at SR4L we have drivers from being novice to experienced and lightning fast. Everyone should be driving to their own ability but above all, with care, for themselves and others. And using common sense of course...
But, I've seen (and read) some (fast experienced) drivers doing things they should have seen coming for example:
* trying to go side by side thru the first tight chicane at Croft, the chicane with the tire stacks close to each other. How on earth do you think you can safely go racing thru there side by side, expecting the other will bail out and if not we'll just crash?
* looking at their HUD while knowing they are, or are about to battle for positions and as a result swerve across track.
* sitting very close behind a lapper, honking at him while as a result, losing control of the car and nudging the lapper of track/causing an incident.
* slowing down and moving over just after the start when everyone around you expects you to accelerate and be safe.
* rejoining the track perpendicular instead of merging, with cars in a pack approaching.
It's just common sense not to do those things, we all have it I'm sure, please use it.
You can read about the points above in the Sim Racing Etiquette thread http://here.
From now on, we expect everyone who races with us, to have read this guide and behave accordingly.
If not, penalties will be applied, from points deduction to exclusion from the league.
We are here for the fun of it, not to get penalized but that also involves learning from your and others mistakes. Please let this be a lesson so the fun will prevail!
Pm me if you have questions/remarks.
