How much did you buy it? I cannot find the price.
Yes it is!!
I backed the kickstarter project for $300 (+ $30 shipping) last year ( http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1523...o-the-game)
They still sell Development Kits for $300 + shipping ( https://www.oculusvr.com/pre-order/)
But be warned, the resolution is very low! (1280x800 -> 640x800 per eye over 90° FOV). They will release a consumer version with higher resolution later (I guess next year). I'm trying to upgrade my Rift with a 1920x1200 (maybe from the new Nexus 7) screen asap.

Then, we checked out the high-definition model of the Oculus Rift, which was literally just assembled and tested 15 minutes before the show opened on the first day of E3. Given how close of a call that was, you couldn't tell. The new device has all of the previous functionality, but it is now complete with a combined 1080p display resolution. This new HD version of the Rift is leaps and bounds better in terms of visual quality, with everything appearing much more detailed. With everything so close to your eyes, the image still seems a little grainier than what you perceive when sitting a couple of feet away from a monitor of the same resolution, but as you become immersed in the world, it is quickly forgotten.

Please keep us informed about your impressions after the race tomorrow.

Can I wear glasses while using the Oculus Rift developer kit?
This really depends on the shape and size of the glasses. The developer kit is designed to sit as close to your eyes as possible which makes it a bit unfriendly for glasses. That said, we’ll do everything we can to make it as comfortable as possible for the developer kit and we have a lot of great ideas for supporting glasses in the consumer version (especially since huge portion of the Oculus team wears glasses every day!).

The League Site has been updated and the Camaro added to Vehicles. You can now edit the 2013 Fun Race season with this car and your car number of choice.
Numbers are: 18,19,27,33,40,41,42 and 66.
Go to the League Site, Drivers/Edit Data/Seasons to make your changes.
get to know the league site, he's a good friend

Yes, in a video one of the developers talked about making it accessible for people with glasses. Also, if the weight of the rift is going to be a problem, you can always attach it to a helmet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p_NEqwoZic

vittorio Wrote:What is a problem is seeing lap times, fuel ... and other information on the edge of the screen. I can hardly or not see them because they are in the peripheral or out of vision. Only thing what really bothers me is seeing the blue! and yellow flags. This is a must and I have to do tests if it is a problem (maybe I have to solve this with a plugin using the spotter maybe) You could always make a custom HUD in Dev mode. Move stuff around, make things bigger like flags. Too late for this race but next. Poor vittorio will still be driving around 4 laps after race is finished, everyone left the server "Is the race finished yet?!!" .
On the subject of finishing the race, to all, remember race is not over until the lead car crosses the line after the 60 mins is up. Bug with this track the guy that waves the chequered flag comes out and starts waving flag the moment the clocks runs out instead of waiting for the lead car to cross finish. Keep going until you see chequered flag in your HUD too.

I can make it 29 laps, that's around and hour than there is no confusion.
Make sure your ready with your lights, you miss the warning and your out. I may even give members a warning as a lead up to fading light.

Yes, did that! Now I have a customized HUD which works perfectly with the Rift. Before I coded a Rift Headtracker Plugin for rfactor2 with very low latency. Think I'm ready for the race. ;D Only problem is that the GT-R has it's steering wheel on the right side, I'm not used to that in real live.
