"Please edit your car/car number of choice on the league site. Go to Drivers/Edit Data/Season."

I don't quite understand this... Do we have to edit this everytime it's a new car series for the Fun events? Because right now my car is Formula ISI since last race at Silverstone. Do I need to change this to a GT car now?

Finally I can show my GTR GT1 skills 8) and if all goes well I will challenge this race using my Oculus Rift for the first time! (if I'm not responding to chat messages then it's because I probably can't see/read them ... )

Yes, and the corresponding car number as well.

Like described in the video, its a virtual reality head mounted device, with high FOV (90° horizontal) and fast head tracking.
The result is, you don't look through a monitor/window into the virtual world anymore, you really are IN the world.
Stereoscopic 3D is perfect, the distances and scale of objects are perfect.

For simracing. My brain gets so much tricked that I think I sit in a GT-R GT1. Tricked is the wrong word, because the eyes input is the same they get in real life.
Same when I rotate my head. The immersion is incredible, you really have to see it to believe it.
And for the first time I know where the cars around me are (no more fear I could hit someone or I don't know if the next corner is mine on overtaking)

IMO (and all others who tried it at iracing forum) this is the future device for simracing. The only downside at the moment is its very low resolution.

Since you are in architectural work Niko, architects already started to use the Rift to show their work to their customers. Its a difference looking at 3D scene on a screen,
or being IN the building with perfect 3D, scale and distances.

Sounds very interesting.
From the look of the guy in the video, it maybe tiring to have all this machine in front of your head, please report us how comfortable it is.

(I can imagine the scare my wife will get seeing me wearing them :o)

The weight and comfort is no problem, its 380g and it feels like wearing old historic racing goggles or ski goggles. (And it's a lot more comfortable than wearing a racing helmet.)

I think you will be scared more when your wife starts to talk to you although you are alone in the car Smile

How do you find all buttons on your wheel/shifter device, and typing quickly on your keyboard while driving with that machine in front of you!? Or take a drink while driving on the straights!? Tongue

I don't have any problem using buttons on the wheel or using the shifter. My hands know where they are without needing to look at them. When driving in my real car I never look at the shifter, direction indicator, light switch ... either.

Keyboard/mouse is a problem, but in qualifying and race we arn't allowed to chat anyway and there I don't have time to drink either.

What is a problem is seeing lap times, fuel ... and other informations on the edge of the screen. I can hardly or not see them because they are in the peripheral or out of vision. Only thing what really bothers me is seeing the blue! and yellow flags. This is a must and I have to do tests if it is a problem (maybe I have to solve this with a plugin using the spotter maybe)

Im really impressed Vitt, this thing looks like more than the perfect 360 curved screen !!!

How much did you buy it? I cannot find the price.
