Automated Server Restart Trial!

Up until now, in order to get the race (Qualy, actually) to start on time, I’ve had to set various reminders, log in remotely to the server etc. - all of which are prone to error, distraction and so on…

From this Round 5, we are trialling a race server app that attempts to restart the server at set time(s). I will still try to log in over the Qualy/race-start period in case of issues that need manual intervention, but hopefully this app will do most of the work.

Any weirdness, let me know. The app will currently restart the server every day at 1725hrs (UK) WITHOUT WARNING.

Glitch last night (unable to properly join server) might have been due to me running an old version of the app. Oops. Latest version will be trialled from this afternoon and should now include a 60 sec countdown warning (through normal message system) of imminent restart.

Race join message will also be updated for Round 5 info at same time. Password will (as usual) only be applied at some point pre-race on Sunday.

Darn, work schedule was changed. I was supposed to be off like I was last Sunday but now I've been scheduled so I'll miss yet another one. But I am off Monday so for those who compete in the historic Trans-Am series at ODS, I'll see you there.

<update>The timed server app is running again. The server is due to restart on both Saturday and Sunday at 17:25 Uk time. I have tested it this evening and it seemed to work fine. There’s only a 60 second countdown to the restart but you should receive normal messages informing you at this point.
