Alas, while my work schedule would have let me race last Sunday when there was no race, this week I was unable to compete again. I'll also miss the historic Trans-Am races in ODS tomorrow (today for you lot). Darn it!

There seem to be a severe lack of eye-witness reports to this prestigous race- So lets start here.
Training: Training for Nords always is a committment on its own as you have to invest quite some time into finding out whether your setup changes have any meaningful effect on the laptime achievable. And bringing in a hotlap without accident or big mistakes feels like winning the lottery. Still looking forward to the hotlap event now that we achieved some stability in the driving adter this event. Q: quite pleased with how it went. Changed settings 15 minutes before Q and improved PB two times resulting in P3. Quite pleased with this result as I was also hoping that I could stay out of trouble in the race (a false hope as it turned out) R: I totally blew the start as must have been half on the grippy side and half not. Had to lift an dang - went from P3 straight to P8 in turn one. That was a bad omen. I had no trouble following the pace and was eager to regain some positions soon but then the inevitable happened. John was slowing down at Kallenhard in a spot where I was not expecting this which made me somehow loose control in the attempt to not run into him. I spun. The but had only little damage. The problem was that i was behind a corner and could not see very far. I could have waited until everyone went past but that was asking too much. I went back on the track after checking that no one was in sight and accelerated at the left side of the track. Not fast enough as there I heard a car approaching fast from behind a push and then wheels passing me followed by what was left from Stuarts Gulf themed car. Sorry Stuart, I feel bad for having ruined your race. I hope that there was enough space to the right to get by. I have not seen the replay yet but thats how i memorized the event. Surprisingly my car was still in (bad) driving condition and I could make it to the pits loosing quite some time to then spend a 159 sec pitstop for needed repairs. From then on it was safe driving and trying use the 4 remaining laps to reconnect with the field and maybe steel some points. This worked out to a certain extend and I could finish in P11.

For my part it's not a love story between me and this track and I didn't have time to practice so I hesitated to race but I finally decided to participate. I wanted to make it special so this was my first serious VR race.
I don't know if it made me slower or faster, it will be necessary to wait for tracks that I know more to say it but one thing is certain is that I had a lot of fun. Enough to do all my races in VR? I don't know at the moment, I will have to test my pace for that. My qualification was ordinary, I could have taken another 7 or 8 seconds but still happy to start 8th. In the race I had a good start, finding myself 5th but I hit the wall on the first lap and my car became difficult to drive. Cook and S. Dancourt passed me but I managed to stay close to them on the 2nd lap, 5-6th place was my goal. I hit the wall again and my car got really hard to drive. When I stopped I had to have it repaired when I didn't want to and I lost 20 seconds but I'm not sure I could have finished higher. Congat to Coyne and DJ in apart class on this track. See you again in 2022 maybe in VR!

Second race I finished and the first without a single mistake. I love the Ring and know it very well, but one thing is to know this track, another is going as faster as you can for 5 clean laps. my first time I think.
Qualy was good and got P6 with a 9.25, with Cookie and Simard behind me, been marginally faster than they I decided not to fight at the start letting they pass me, Simard at the first corner and Cookie at the end of the first lap, I was content and cautious in P7 and been close of them, eventually Cookie overpassed Simard still at my sight, JP crashed, I got P6 and decided stay there, cruising till the flag. First good result after many races. This cars are very sensitive to drive, even difficult, a very realistic but demanding feeling, poor grip but fantastic sensations. Great Mod and great track. Thank you very much to the administrators.

However to me the fact that such things can happen is part of the excitment and thrill. It is all a bet and the real drivers were betting with their lives. We only risk to loose the time invested in preparation and setup. As time is precious we worry a lot about investing it badly and this takes sim racing out of the game sphere and creates a real world drama. Of course no one wants to have multiple events like that in a row but in the end knowing that everything could be lost in the first corner creates that special feeling you get when the count down is on.

I was too greedy and pushed too hard on my first lap which ended up in the barriers , car was crabbing but decided to finish the lap to get a time , repaired car and went out more cautiously this time , got pole but then DJ pipped me and pushed me down . Race I was nervous about the start , I was pulling a high first gear as i was using this a lot in the early part of the lap to aid turn in , so I knew I would be slower than usual off the line . Luckily I got away faster than DJ and made the first corner in the lead , tried to drive within the cars limits until tyres came up to temp whilst keeping DJ behind , once the tyres came in I got into my rhythm and surprisingly i slowly pulled away , I know DJ is good here and i kept expecting him to pull me in but i think he may have got damaged somewhere in the early part of the lap .
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

No damage, you were just super fast. I think 1 or 2 of your lap times in race were faster than your qualify time by a lot. You did well. Congratulations on your win.
I think I was under danger from Marwin the first half lap, he was fast also. I knew he would just fly by me on the long back straight with his Ferrari car. But, he disappeared, I guess he had an accident. Enjoy holidays all.

Sadly I had very little time to react to you on the track but there was space on the right to pass, I just didn't have the reactions to get there in time. Thanks for the event guys I hope I can race with you all more often. Excuse the awful quality, but here's my perspective: https://clips.twitch.tv/AnnoyingExquisit...59bo2lmb4Q |
