Think I must have been driving one of the fast car. That was not the plan. I joined the server with a white Volvo car and found everyone else had a white car. So I went back out to find a none white car., but they all white! Found a yellow one. I guess it was one of the fast ones  .

CU all next week. Yeah - Ed was chatting with Petrolhead and myself on Discord and was also quite happily driving a Volvo until you posted a time that was a second or two out of reach - so he changed.:p
The 190e we’re using next ( and hopefully for a while) seems well received so far - but has some odd (to me) geometry. The middle and outside edges of the tyres get disproportionately hot regardless of how much negative camber you use and if you reduce castor (which is near Max by default) too much, you get some ‘flop over’ steering forces where the steering effort doesn’t just diminish if you apply too much lock - it actually feels like it’s trying to add more steering lock…!
Beware the sausage strips on the kerbs too - quite easy to roll the car if you catch one just right:oops:

Beware the sausage strips on the kerbs too - quite easy to roll the car if you catch one just right:oops: This is a good demo of how poor the RF2 tyre model is , do a lap on default pressures check temps , alter camber do one more lap and you can see the changes you would expect , do 2 laps and you slide off no grip due to tyre ballooning , drop tyre pressures to min , temps are all over the place and camber changes dont alter this , the tyre sidewalls are so soft due to lack of pressure they roll on the rim and absorb the camber adjustments but the tyres balloon less and now give more grip .

Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

My default first setup tweak of any new car for as long as I can remember has always been to minimise the tyre pressures first of all.
Regardless of that, I’ve not come across another car that is so eager to heat the outer edges - and I’m intrigued by the caster-reduction outcome given that even at its minimum setting, there is still ‘significant’ positive caster present.
Anyway, the car seems quite fun - and after a quick two-car sprint with KCW yesterday afternoon it seems serendipitous that we are only running six lap races as the tyres scream for help….:eek:

Ignore tyre temps go by how the car feels , from max front camber back off a couple degrees try it then do the same again , you will feel the grip come to you around 3.5 - 3.7 is where i get best feeling .
The Brabham BT20 was terrible for this as it ran very high profile tyres .
The only mod i have come across where the tyres behave almost as you would expect is the 70s mod by Postipate and Wiggum , thier tyres actually have a working range which you can use to tune the handling , its only a small range 100 > 115 and i dont know what they did but it works .

Great races again last night. Thank you.
Giorgio thinks he was about to win his first SR4L race, DJC had other plans  . Not on my watch  .
My old computer struggled with the car with FPS. Despite the cars box like appearance, I had a very laggy steering wheel when I had 6 other cars in my FOV. Great to drive but. My 2 gig video card is showing it's age.
Mr. Pond was fast.

I’ll be having a look for the next track(s) this afternoon - I’m pleasantly surprised that Vallelunga worked out so well with the tight hairpins and I though the tyres actually lasted much better than expected once the track was saturated with rubber.
I’ll get something new uploaded by the end of today and lock it in by the weekend.

I've tested a number of tracks this afternoon that feel like good candidates:
This week: Jarama Historic v1.0 (6-laps) - server is up
Possible future locations include:
Matsusaka (aka Suzuka) - 5 laps
Donnington GP - 6 laps
Jerez - 5 laps
Autopolis - 5 laps
Algarve - 5 laps

I had a ton o fun with these cars/track/format. I was more competitive than usual thanks to Ed saving me with his setup. Ends up my personal setup was at default on tire pressure. I had lowered it to minimum when I practiced but must have not saved it properly. I'm sure his spring and damper settings also contributed to a great handling car. Thanks again Ed!

I had a fairly Good setup but opted to try Ed's (thanks Ed) for the second race and stayed with it. For me all I did was change the brake ballance. Excellent setup Ed
