No, I think he’s ditched that email for a while as he was having issues with misuse. I’ll PM you.

Giorgio - it’s entirely up to you, but I notice you’re driving one of the Cosworth variants of the T290 (at Mugello anyway). There are subtle differences in weight and power between the four variants but the Chevy does have a slight edge…

I’m a data-geek and use telemetry / data recording a lot, so will look for anything that can help.

There is a widely-available utility (the name escapes me) that can interrogate most 3rd party mods and show you the power/torque curves, weight, brake characteristics, tyre wear/grip etc. Doesnt (generally) work with paid-for content as that’s encrypted. It *can* - if you’re lucky - give you the edge if there are variations such as we have here - or just in terms of gearing, brake cooling etc. (but the gains will be pretty marginal…)

We had a bit of fun last night but with many recent racers missing in action (holidays? Good weather? Track choice?)

The server is already up with my proposal for the combo for next weeks race (Wed 4th August) - a final outing with the T290s - this time at Vallelunga (never raced there before).

I’m happy to entertain suggestions of alternatives for this race - and those from the 11th - but we will generally keep either the car or track from one week to the next for now.

Hmm. @deecee52 and @DJCruicky - whaddya think of this track layout. I’m beginning to think the car doesn’t really suit the infield… I’m thinking Silverstone 75 or old Kyalami might be happier racing for this week….

I thought it was OK, It's a track I've never drove before which is always a good thing for me. But I will drive what ever.

I quite like it , plenty of areas to outbrake , with the tyre pressures we are stuck with it will get exciting from lap 2 onwards as the tyres loose grip , but would be good fun in an agile tintop
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

Thanks both.

I think it’s a track with good potential for out-braking and pendulum-swing position changes too…

…but I also think an ‘agile tintop’ - or something - might make a better match.

I think we’ll save it up for the near future to allow a bit more testing of what suits it best.

I’ll put Something else up later this morning.

Right - I've decide we'll do Mosport (Canadian Tyre Motorsport Park) - it's a bit more challenging than old Kyalami (which we raced the T290s at back in April anyway).

That was a good turnout and great fun last night - thanks go to everyone who turned out

I’m planning to change the cars for next week but haven’t finalised the details yet - hoping to try late-80’s touring cars for a while. The #3 server will probably be yo-yoing up and down until the weekend but I’ll update the 2nd post when it’s finalised.

The auto-download *should* work - but the size of the files is one reason why I’ve not included the Sierra or M3 at this point… Looking at workarounds for that but might just phase them in over the coming weeks (if we get on with the series in the first place!)

Maybe an idea just to put links to the car and track each time
