SR4L Fun Race Sebring 24 hr time scaled

I really mis the tyre sounds with this car.
Finally found out what the issue was, me stepping in, doing okay times, another time stepping in and keep on overshooting every single corner.

It's my way of braking; I always lock up first and release a bit. I know how much to release because of the tyre squealing and the smoke getting less. My former wheel and sure as h*ll this one, don't give me the feedback I need.

The times I did okay, were probably just luck I guess; tried a few minutes ago and again; have no clue how hard to brake.

The first tight right-hander, with the chicane right after that, just before S1; I can start braking right after the 400m sign and have luck I'm stopped in time, sometimes even to early just a bit OR......I can start braking well before the 400m and overshoot big time.

Closed wheels on the front; I see smoke to late......have no clue if the car doesn't brake because of to light braking or locking up before it's to late.

I have played around with the sensitivity but that had no use; the same happens but only at some other time in the pedal move.
Setting the brakepower lower; it just don't brake as well even if I'm doing it right.

So........if anyone has an idea......I would love to hear that

I'm having the exact same problems with the Lola. Sometimes it brakes perfectly and sometimes it just won't stop! Maybe it's because of brake temperature?

Hi Knight. I was on the server last night, at least I was on a server that was running the Lola's at Sebring 8)
If you get a chance to adjust the Lola for Sebring track let me know, I have not had any time to get anything done with it yet

I don't know, but it stays the same; even after a few laps. Brakes should be warmed up by then.

Tried registering for this with 'Will Race For Food' team.
Not sure if clicking on the 'Send' button under Ask on the Team Application screen was the right place though :-\
Have not spent enough time here, the league registration is still quite confusing to me
Anyways, gonna try to be there for the race...

Some problem with teams atm, it is not working for this race, Bryan and Paul tried to fix it but it didnt come out.

Okay rF2 back but still cannot get on server, I can run car and track ofline, have every track in the game downloaded and installed, but still hit the Get Mod problem...three hours I have been trying.

Downloading the the mod again, it occurs to me I just downloaded the car and you must have the version he posted first that needed the tracks installed, I got the second one...heh bet it works now.

Bit disappointed. The entire line up from midway to the back was cleaned up in the first 30 odd seconds by unidentified legends. Couldn't get above 3rd for the whole first lap and almost couldn't make it to pits (I counted 5+ first lap pits?more?). Restart was called from many, but to no avail. 2-3 laps later a further 4 or 5 were DQ from no headlights. We were told to turn them off at grid, and I guess we just missed the warning?

darn, forgot about the headlights issue in rF2
hope they fix that soon, oh well my mistake, should have remembered...

also not sure what happened at the start, likely bit too much eagerness to get into the first corner :o
tried watching the replay but unfortunately that is still a work in progress

still all in all it was fun race while it lasted 8)

I was amazed at the lack of restart, I actually parked up after seeing two major incidents only to find the race continued, then after getting back into it was soon nurfed from behind several times by impatient drivers trying to make up places. I spent the best part of the day getting things sorted for what I thought would be a fun couple of hours...Ah well. Such is life.

I took the lack of restart to be indicative of it's an endurance race and we should have been more careful at the start...
I don't think they restart these things in real life too often 8)

But I was disappointed I forgot about the headlights thing

"We" being careful will not save you from being rammed. The replay showed the guilty parties. Sadly, they managed to get through and put their lights on.

Anyhow, for the record - was there a headlight warning or not?
Did we just miss it? I'm guessing that has to be it - I had them on at first...

An hour is hardly endurance, and it was billed as a fun race. There were several major crashes on the first lap and I was not the only one expecting a restart...But it was what it was and I will know what to expect if I enter another...I was careful, didn't crash into the car in front of me who just sat at the start without moving, avoided the carnage, but no amount of care on my part would prevent those trying to get back on terms nurfing me off at corners. They may just have been a little more patient if they had not been sent to the pits on lap one. Ah like I say it was what it was, and I guess I'm just a bit grumpy :-)

Yes there was a headlight warning but blink and you'll miss it, I just put mine on as soon as the sun appears on the horizon because that warning is easy missed if your concentrating on the track.

The warning was there, thanks to it I managed to remember to turn lights on.

Races are like it is, that's why I think it was fine in not restarting it, even though I lost all my chances of a podium finish there.

I am sorry for whining about a restart while the race was going on. But i was really upset, because my poitn of view of the start crash was the following:

It looks like MikeP is moving over to me deliberatly.
Anyhow, what upset me more, was that so many people were crashing, all asking for a restart, but we didn't restart. Whats the harm of restarting the race half a lap after the start? For many guys, including me, this resulted in an very frustrating hour...lonely doing the laps and thinking what a fun race this could have been.
