I voted for the Howstons, but as I said, I'd be happy with the Matra or Lola, too. I'll try out the F1 91 as well. Thanks for the opportunity to give our input.

My vote goes for the 92 Wim's fix version
Anyway it will be fine too to drive any of the other options.

deecee52 Wrote:Guys something to bear in mind , running the F1 cost SR4l a lot of members i think , a lot of the old faces seemed to disappear at that time . Inorder to attract new guys and hopefully pull back some of the old ones , whatever car we choose should not be too difficult to drive competitively .
I have enjoyed the Brabhams but i think they may have had a similar effect , look at how many guys are registered for the championship and then how many have done more than 2 races , big difference , we need a car that keeps people interested , if drivers are 10secs a lap behind the faster guys they give up .
I have the same fears.
I'll take what is considered best for the community.

I put a time limit to voting for car till next Sunday, so we have time to discuss about tracks and duration of races.

Just throwing an idea in here , why not 2 championships for 2015 alternating fortnightly , same number of races in total as though we were running just the one championship ,the Brabham had 13 so this would need to be 12 or 14 , also factor in the ability to drop a score , that way those who have a vacation wont see their championship chances destroyed
1st championship something fun and easier to drive like F3 ,Skippys , 2nd championship something more technical and powerfull like Lola , Howston , 92 mod or Meganes
The first may pull in and hold new drivers , it may also give them confidence to try the faster cars .
The second will satisfy the fast guys and keep their interest up
as i say this is just an idea thrown together so dont bite me
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

I also thought about that posibility, two different simultaneous leagues, racing two different cars in the same tracks on alternate weekends.
Having both leagues race the same track could help to avoid the stress of learning a new track ever week.
But I also thought that could be too demanding for the admins to manage two leagues at the same time.

Nikos can you explain how the admin works as i have no idea , then maybe we can help to spread the load .
I understand Paul has to set the server up but after that my knowledge is zilch .

I dont think I know more about that than you DC.
Admin or Race Director does race management as you know.
That means he must commit himself to actually be there and run the server and know how to fix problems.
Then he must publish results and check replays if there are complaints.
And, to top it all, to answer and solve peoples problems registering, approving registrations and generally take care of site.
Maybe it doesnt sound much, but if I consider the hours it takes me to make race announcements that are more or less copy-paste and start some threads and post some posts, actually it adds up to too much.

Not sure guys...
Since last year I've grown more and more fond of endurance races.
I've expressed this feedback already a few times, I will try again
What I'd like: - go for one longer race, around 25-35 laps, say 40 to 60 minutes duration instead of two races
- driver can choose their strategy, no mandatory pit stop. I've always disliked the mandatory pit stop, especially if it comes after 6/7 laps.
As for the mod, my preference goes to, in order of my personal taste:
- Modern F1s (ISI Formula Masters f.ex), or F1 1992 even though I've raced them for ~1h only once and all field had severe brake problems
- Old F3s
- F3.5 2014
- Modern F3s (Mak Corp mod)
- Skip barber
- GT cars, URD or otherwise
I've been happy with SR4L so far, you guys are a nice bunch of friends, but I don't think I have the bandwidth to participate in two leagues, so it's likely that I'll choose just one next year. We'll see, I haven't made up my mind yet. On the one hand, I'd like to put some extra practice, analyse laps with motec, etc.. to improve my drive and times. On the other hand, I know I won't be able to do that if I take part in two leagues, with races every week.

adding them to poll, except Old F3s (already there), MakCorp (I think F3.5 is similar), URD (if we will have payware we must discuss that).

We should do a poll on this, why dont you?
