Hedlund Wrote:I hate that feeling that one can't correct oversteer...if the rear wheels spins it's over in 0.1 second lol I have problems with the brake too. In all modern rf2 open wheelers it feels like I can never ever use more than 50% of the brake pedal.
Well, every car has it's own things; those cars "were more like that".
I for one think it's the sport; learning to control every car.
When I was in for the F3 and F2's, I had to adjust to those, being a great fan of modern day OW cars; now it's your turn
I don't want to brag, but I can drive the 92's pretty well; easy on the throttle and than you CAN correct oversteer (to a certain degree of course).
Also the brake; with these cars it's more important to "feel" the brake; at top speed full power and when lowering speed, less power.
When you find that, it's awesome.
Doesn't take away that this is a completely different car to drive (but fun imho!)

Just tried the 92 mod again... damn they were really easy on default setup and quite fun. But the physics definitely have flaws... When I took some wing off, the car became extreeeeemely unstable... I mean it wanted to spin in the slow hairpins (50 kmh) even with 0% throttle input. Lol. And like Gorka said, if you turn your steering wheel too much the car won't understeer more (like it should) but instead it will turn around. So if you go into a really fast corner (let's say 200kmh) and you have understeer...you can turn your steering wheel even more and instead create oversteer lol. Personally I don't want to race this car in a league as it is now. The physics isn't good at all.
The Ferrari 643 feels more finished imo. And what's the point with a full F1 grid if all cars have the same physics and probably we will even have our own skins too? Instead we could use the 643 but with different skins

My only problem with the Ferrari 643 is the way the view reacts when turning. I hope they get a release soon to make it optional

If we do, we will end up with a Ferrari with Tyrrell skin and Ferrari wheel

What do you mean? My view is rock solid like with all other cars In controller options I have "Look ahead", "Exaggerate yaw" and "head movement" all to 0%. Try this and see if it helps.
@Nikos
Atm we have McLarens, Hondas, Ferraris etc with Brabham wheel 8)
Regarding the Matra...sure we can use it. It's quite good. But personally I think it's too similar to the cars we have used the last 2 seasons. Could be fun with a change.

That worked. With default settings in this car the view leans 45ยบ left/right as you turn the wheel

Keep in mind; all the "bad" things on the '92 (or any other car for that matter) can be changed.
Just say the word

The 643 Ferrari feels more realistic in behaviour. Not an easy car to bring on the throttle at slower corners.
It's quite aggressive on the FFB, at kerbs and at bumpy roads makes the G27 rattle (on some tracks it could be a problem)
Wim, If the 92s could handle like the 643 and have the same downforce/brakes/engine it would be the perfect mod as the 92s provide (while the 643 can't) full variety in cars, cockpits and car sounds.
We must not forget the Lola if we want closer racing, though after driving the Formulas the Lola feels a little wierd on driving, a little "boaty".
After racing the leagues of Eve/spark F3, Eve/Spark F2, Eve/Spark F1 and BT20 I really need a rest from 60s open wheelers. I need something with downforce.

I will see if I can get those things closer to the 643 tomorrow.
Sdenerro did make a testcar; I will change that one and upload it.

I feel the same way as you Gorka, that we should try something different. The perfect step would of course be an early 70's car with medium downforce but still possible to drift. I'm starting to really like Assetto Corsa's Ferrari 312T. I wish we had something similar for RF2...Grrrr! Lotus 72 *drooling*
Regarding the Lola, I tried it at Brianza yesterday and seriously that car is great... Honestly I had almost forgotten. But with minimum wings it still suprised me how awesome the grip was in the first corner...felt a little unrealistic.
However, I'm definitely into the 92 mod if we can get them right. Go wim.

as I have said - I like the lola first..
second would be the 92 because it has more skins and the cars sound different..
either of these two would be a switch from what we are running, and I think that is good
as nikos said guys - time to add your 2 cents...

I think the Mark I Howstons are a very fun car. The amount of power is not totally insane for the amount of grip. The Lola is a very fun car as well. I'm just not that into a lot of aero grip with more modern cars. Just call me old fashioned. I was just at the Daytona Classic 24 race. Wow. Some incredible old iron. Lots of material for new mods.

For me it would be.
1. Lola
2. Howston G4 67
3. 92 F1 with 91 feel if Wim would be so kind.

What do you think of adding weight handicaps depending on race results to try to have closer racing?. Let's say adding 50-40-30-20-10kg to the top 5 finishers of the previous event.
It's just an idea I have and I'd like to know your opinions on that.

Guys,
The 92 with 91 feel is possible, for sure!
The cars are very similar and all is interchangeable; no problem there.
For now; go from the point there IS going to be the 92 mod, driving exactly the same as the 91; my promise to you.
I said I would look into it today and give you a download. That's where I was a bit to enthusiastic........I saw it's going to be a lot of work!
There is no use in doing it halfway for now; there might be issues than and/or halfway feelings in the car you might not like, rendering it useless.
I will do it, but I need some more time to finish it.
By the way......"funny" to see MY engine is already in there.........??............made that for the 92 a while ago.
As for Gorgias' idea for the weight;
I see no way to do that in a menner it can be checked by others.......you may have to use a different mod every time the weight is changed.
No others should use that car than; if I use the same car, I get a penalty too.
The only way I see for something like that now, is adding the same car with different weight.
For instance; there are Ferrari number 1 and 2, both having a weight of 800 KG.
In the mod, there are Ferrari number 3,4,5 and 6, weighing 810,820,830 and so on KG.
We can all see you have a penalty of 30KG, so you should use Ferrari number 5.
Downside from that is; it is going to be a big,big mod..........
OR we could just all use a different car and add weight every time this is needed, making the mod change all the time.
Anyway; 92 mod coming up, but I don't see myself finishing that today. I have to do all cars by hand, so if I finish one of them, I post it here when it's completely done.

Wim, if it is a lot of work, maybe you should first wait and see which car we choose to drive next season? So you don't unnecessarily do a lot of work.
