In the two laps I've already done I've learnt that if the approaching curve has that type of warning signals (>>>>>>) it's definitely a slow corner (the problem is when those signals aren't there and you end up down the hill or crashing against one of those nasty heavy poles.

Another good indicator of a slow turn are barriers. These are the 70s, not a lot of money going around in southern Italy, so barriers were put after somebody had mistaken the slow bend and went down the mountain the fast way, so a turn with a barrier is usually a lethal place. Also it pays to observe the traffic signs/warnings (the triangles) of slow bends, they are telling the truth

is there something wrong with lola, I get chronic clutch slip if I try to accelerate
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

deecee52 Wrote:is there something wrong with lola, I get chronic clutch slip if I try to accelerate i think only when you are using autoclutch. If you clutch yourself it doesn't slip, but when heavy on the throttle i get a lot of wheelspin though :o

That's nice, so you autoclutch guys can't cheat

Hedlund Wrote:That's nice, so you autoclutch guys can't cheat cheat in what? you can do clutchless changes anyway. only thing usefull about autoclutch is you dont have to remember to press clutch for stalling. btw do you remember that Lola has no starter? you gamble that? ![]()

As posted in ISI forums: -----------------------------
awesome Idea! I hope i will have the time to join the event. Did my first laps of the targe today...such an awesome experience! And the lola is perfect for it.What times are you guys looking at (why does the live-timing not work btw)? I did a low 35min with a few spins today...i think once you know the track, low 34s should be possible!? -------------------------------------- And just for you guys: Hello again! Long time since i last took part in something to do with sr4l. In the last months i hadn't had much time for simracing other than the odd lap with the awesome BES mod (drool). I'm working too much on the formula-student project at my university and am finishing my masters degree, so i can start working in April. But i hope i will find more time for racing with you guys again soon

But what I meant was that the clutch slip prevent drivers using auto-clutch to gain time on those using manual clutch with super-speedy upshifts, like with the Howstons. What do you mean by Lola has no starter? I can start the Lola anywhere on the track. Gamble what? :o

In this Lola version, yes you can start the engine anywhere on track.
About clutch slipping, it happens too when driving manual gears if you shift-up too quickly, I've suffered a lot from it when going from third to fourth gear.

Rf2 ctd everytime I leave server after a long session at Targa. Anyone else?
edit: and I have noticed massive slowdowns in race/quali session when there's many drivers. When driving alone on the server I have no problems, but as soon as there's 5-10 drivers I have small lag pretty much everywhere on track, random. And the other drivers doesn't need to be close to me at all. When driving behind other drivers the dust is a big fps killer although I have the "soft particles" set to low. Hopefully I don't need to drive behind more than 1 driver at the same time in the "race" on sunday... But anyway. I'm going to try to cap my fps to 80 or something, because it's when it's dropping from 120 to below 100 I get the lag. Not sure if it helps though... My brother noticed the same thing: lag when driving in race and quali with "many" players. Anyone else?

Yep having this too, capping it even more may help, good point...
I have soft particles off tho..

Yes me 2, all settings on low. Yesterday i had ~70fps....tonight i had ~45.
