Rnd 9 Brianza Race Reports
#4
Finally an oasis in the desert.
Eves had the top speed advantage here and I had to take advantage of it.

Qualy
------
Did a 2:33.4 in the first part of the session wich already brought me to first position so I had the chance to take more risks at Lesmo1 and Lesmo2 where I was feeling really comfortable. Close to the end I did a very good first sector, seing a -0.66x and finally ending the lap at a personal best 2:32.9

Race 1
------
I was fearing Rikard (who was in second place) could make a good start (second place is where rubber is and has really good grip), but suddenly I saw him dissapear in my mirrors (don't know what actually happened to him), so we came to the classic threesome alongside Marcel and David.
At this point I decided to quick plan my strategy. I was carrying fuel for 4 laps (the fastest strategy was a 4-4 as it carried less fuel weight) but I had to look for something different if I wanted not to have Marcel and David on my slipstream till the end of the race. So I thought that If I did an early pitstop and be able to run my pace with no traffic, and hoping they didn't synchronise in their slipstreams and go faster than me, I could make it to the end with no battles.
So I decided it was time for pitting in this very second lap we were. But after that many thinking, right after pressing the space key to request my pitstop I suddenly realised I was already at the braking spot for Lesmo1 and I already was full throttle. I then broke really late, going really wide and fearing I could touch the wall and damage the car. I whent through the little grass path and did a 360ยบ spin recovering fast, losing just around 4-5 seconds and getting a feeling of embarrasment and self-dissapointment.
I went for my early pitstop which took 47 seconds, good. That cheered me back again and thought I had to push the maximun.
Coming out of the pits I saw the head of the race going through the parallel lane. This helped me to have them as a reference of my pace and seing lap by lap I was going a bit faster than them.
A few laps later I was glad to see that Marcel was coming out of pits in front of me but still acelerating and slow enough for me to overtake him and keep him out of my slipstream. The following lap the same happened with David and so I had to keep that gap till the end. Sometimes I saw how the time differences reduced as they used their slipstreamsr but finally the gap remained to 3.x secons and I took a victory that had a bit of a sour flavour after my previous mistake.

Race 2
------
Marcel did a good start from his second place while David lost a bit at the start, so Marcel and I quickly pulled a little gap. As in race1 I decided that if I pitted early I could avoid Marcel beeing at my slipstream and as David was far enough to catch Marcel it was the best strategy to take the most of the Eve's advantage here.
Se there I pitted at lap 2, having again a 47 sec pitstop and then racing at my own pace having a lonely race till the end, and taking the second win of the night.

Race 3
------
Starting from behind I filled my car with fuel for 6 laps.
In case I got away from posible accidents in the midfield I could do a long first stint looking for other's slipstreams and taking advantage of that. So the start was quite good getting away of trouble and soon getting things in the way. But what I hadn't predicted is that I had added quite a big fuel amount and that I was going to block my rear tires at the braking of Parabolica. That meant for a walk on the grass and deciding to pit early again as things went wrong. Pitstop took 53 sec, quite slow.
I rejoined way behind only starting to pick up places as people started doing ther pitstops. Had some battles on the way and two laps to go a little intense one with Yerke who I was able to overtake at the main straight beginning the final lap and pick up enough advantage at the first sector to be able to run without pressure at the bankings and making it to fourth place.

Good night yesterday, time to rejoice until Putnam Park.
