I had put a decent amount of practice this time. Last race I did was Austria and I think I was like 1,5 second from pole that time and I didn't understand how I could be that slow. Takes time to get up to speed in these cars and there's more time to gain than you think when you really know the car and push. This time I got pole! Actually I never managed to improve my personal best which was 1.31.6 because I never got turn 2 perfect (really difficult corner!).
My main issue was that I couldn't do longer stints because my wheel started to rattle after 5 laps and after 15 laps it was undrivable. I knew this and in a desperate attempt to solve this I lowered the brake pressure about 10% just before the race. I guess that's one reason why I made the stupid mistake and crashed into Edward in the hairpin on lap one, but also because I had no experience of braking in the draft from 2 cars, and with heavy car. I'm really sorry about that
I waited for him to get going again but didn't see when he re-joined, so I ended up last. From there I just tried to keep my tires from being flatspotted and got back up to 6th place I think.. but I still had to pit very early to get new tires. In my second stint I was even more careful but it didn't help, I gave up after a few laps as my wheel still started to rattle. Can't drive like that late in the night, it's way too noisy.
Not a good race for me but I'm glad I still have the pace over one lap. Hope to join more races next season. I'm glad SR4L had so many participants this season!
