Phew this was a hard one , minor lapses in concentration cost you dearly , a couple of senior moments wrecked my strategy .
I decided to run the race on hard tyres as according to Carstat the hards gave more grip when hot than the softs so it would help with braking and keep me out of the barriers , this should have meant I came strong in the later part of the race , sadly for me brain fade meant I collected the barriers a couple of times which damaged the rear , by mid race I was struggling with too much oversteer , the final straw was coming across Gorka broadside across the track at the Swimming pool I braked hard to avoid but I saw him too late and hit him but even worse DJ was right behind and could not avoid hitting my rear hard which increased the damage and from then on it made it difficult to get the power down , there was only 4 laps to go so decided to limp home .
I am not convinced about the accuracy of Carstat , according to it specs the Mac is more powerfull and more aerodynamic than the Brabham but I could see that ontrack the Mac does not seem able to match the top end speeds .
I decided to do a crude test on the long striaght at Nurburgring , both cars same gearing / fuel / height / tyre pressures and minimum aero , I run the wrong way down the track until I got to the exit curve on the last corner , turned and started my run from there , the finish was the bridge
the Brabham was consistently 4km quicker on top end over 3 runs , so I think the reality is that the Mac is about 10 horse down on the Brabham and not 30 hp more which is the figure Carstat states , this made me wonder if Carstat presents the actual or the historical figures , as to the accuracy of the tyre info i cant honestly say as i had damaged the car so that affected how the tyres performed .

Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it
