This car track combo made me fear for my life. I was not feeling any confidence going into the event.
Quali didn't help my confidence much -- I spun twice and ended up with a 1:55 or something ridiculous like that.
On the bright side, I don't feel pressure or tension when starting at the back of the grid like I do in my usual mid-pack position.
I drove race 1 clean and boring. Focused on keeping the car between the lines, rather than setting a personal best lap. No spins, offs or contact with other drivers. Lap traffic was super considerate. Finished in 7th. How the hell?
Started in the second row on race 2. Not my favorite place to be since I tend to choke under pressure. Came out of turn one in second place and fortunately avoided the armageddon-level mayhem which unfolded behind me. Ran second behind Tim for a while, and even led a lap or two. I had to seriously focus on not blowing P3 after pit stops were completed. I knew there was no way I'd catch David and Kristjen and P4 was 20 seconds behind, so I focused on being clean and boring for the last 9 or so laps. Held on to P3. Divine Intervention.
For me, finishing a race is like getting a podium. Finishing on the lead lap is like winning the race. Finishing on the Podium is like winning the entire championship.
So, yeah, I feel that I had a good weekend and brought home some good points for the team.

When in doubt, pass out.
