Does that turn off the dust completely?

I had all of the above. Including the rf2 crash when I exited.

I don't know if they are still working on this track, but if they are I'm sure we could provide some helpful feedback after this event Tongue

afaik they dont, they released it hoping someone will take it from here and continue.
They said they will be happy if somebody could redo all 3ds and textures if I understood well.
It would be worthwhile as the road and elevations are fantastic, no work needed there.
All you have to do is new 3ds for 3 villages, about 100 houses, a lot of era cars and stuff and countless 3d goats, childs play Big Grin
They have uploaded a ModDev version with Max files if anybody wants to try it
http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/79...Florio-WIP

btw this is the presentation of their original track for GPL, go in there and take a look, two very interesting pages

Thanks Nikos. Interesting, indeed.
This is such a track I'd love to contribute to... But it's just overwhelming ;D
It would be fantastic if some track guy could fix the most common issues with the track, like realroad, signs and some other objects has too big hitboxes, no background landscape in replay, cutting the track in some corners results in no laptime etc.

At least I could try to create some simple era cars and other 3d stuff...maybe some buildings. I need to learn texturing so...
Are you not interested? ;D

edit: This track needs a pleclair guy

About clutch slipping, it happens too when driving manual gears if you shift-up too quickly, I've suffered a lot from it when going from third to fourth gear.

the lolaT70 does this too....er i mean the howsten from isi....here is what they said was built into the T70.....i find the T280 latest version is also exhibiting same :

"Shifting these historic cars is perilous. On the longer circuits the engines spend a lot of time near the redline, and while this is optimum, it will lead to mechanical failures in longer races. Power doesn’t drop off too much after the peak power RPM in any configuration, and given most configurations carry a 4-speed, you should shift at the redline, but should probably reduce revs for endurance races – although shifting before the peak can bog the car down! For races under 3 hours, which could be taken at maximum RPM, the optimal shift point from third to fourth could be done around the 7300 RPM mark assuming the ratios are close enough"

edit: and I have noticed massive slowdowns in race/quali session when there's many drivers. When driving alone on the server I have no problems, but as soon as there's 5-10 drivers I have small lag pretty much everywhere on track, random. And the other drivers doesn't need to be close to me at all. When driving behind other drivers the dust is a big fps killer although I have the "soft particles" set to low. Hopefully I don't need to drive behind more than 1 driver at the same time in the "race" on sunday... But anyway.

I'm going to try to cap my fps to 80 or something, because it's when it's dropping from 120 to below 100 I get the lag. Not sure if it helps though...
My brother noticed the same thing: lag when driving in race and quali with "many" players.

Anyone else?

Same here.
I had crashes and connection lost.. Sad

I did test a update of mine, just like we did with the Nords track, with dust removed. I can say the track is stutter free with it. A bit too late in the day to release so close to the event, no time to test it fully.

What a pity. But hopefully it will be alright with 30 sec interval. Probably there won't be a big pack of drivers together, but it's not impossible.

Driving in the dust behind 1-3 drivers should be fine, with fps capped. It looks like it's working for me and Marcel at least. Perhaps it's a good advice for all to cap fps to the value they think will be their lowest fps.

Sad i just did a lap on the server and i started behind someone else...even though he quickly gave up and left the server, my fps stayed low all the same. very strange.
I have to cap my fps at 60 and alone hadn't seen anything below on the targa...but that lap was at about 55 most of the time. very strange to drive like that :-\

Just did a lap, and for the first time I got no laptime. When watching the replay I have no sector time in 1st sector. Only thing I can think have caused it is that I cut the grass just slightly when leaving pits, on the gravel road. When I came to 2nd sector, time counter started again, but only to stop again when I was driving over a bridge (no cut at all). Only the last sector was fine.

Except the little cut when leaving pits, I was not driving any different lines than usual and I have never had this before.
Robert had the same thing once. His laptime just disappeared when he came to 2nd sector.

You sure you didn't cross pit entry like in image in first post?

I'm gonna set server anyway and we'll see what happens. Wink

there must be some major bug! started at the back, got about 20 fps and big freezes. tried for the first kilometer or two, but couldn't even aim at any apex at all and it didn't get better....not playable like this.

Yes Jonny that's how it was for me , I was hitting everything and sliding all over the place , its a shame cos it was a great idea
Understeer - is when you hit the wall with the front of the car
Oversteer - is when you hit the wall with the back of the car
Horsepower - is how fast you hit the wall
Torque - is how far you move the wall when you hit it

Yeah, track gets very laggy with more than 8 or 9 players.. I hoped the spreaded field would make it less but it didn't.. Sad

Thanks for joining in tonight anyway Smile

Same for me, don't get it tho.
In practise session tonight i had no lag at all. except when trying to load my setup. But driving no problem at all.

Race was completely different though, 5-20 fps with all set to low and no shadows or particels. undoable :'(

Sorry i left but i was confused, bit angry bcause i hoped for a nice race.
Don't want to blame SR4L or Marcel and DJ who again did a great job with a nice idea. Thanks for your great efforts guys.

btw How did Nikos do with my setup ??? (and his own tire pressures :Smile)
