generally speaking
if you respect other drivers like your friends,in friendly league then you will realize that he/she have spend his free time to practice to have better experience,
but if you didnt have time for practice but you want to have fun a least accept game rules.
and respect rules your friends made for us to play this game to have fun.there will all ways be someone with little more and less free time.
there are guys racing together couple of seasons and everyone know there are no prizes but they want to win.why?
because they spend they free time to practice, and racing are made to compete others.
you want it or not, there is always someone who wants to win.is it fun or money or reputation or whatever reason
some guys here dont understand that following rules make you better and quicker driver and more aware of things around you.
and i was always(dont matter how fast/slow i was) trying to when practice drive behind slower drivers to see their reactions and
get familiar with driver.
so yes practice together fast & slower drivers is essential to have good races.thats the place and time when faster guys can help slower
to come quicker and more confident on public & friendly racing leagues
so i dont understand why are so many of you when time for practice and room for errors dont do that..fast guys dont bite if they do,they are probably far away from you
but if you didnt have time for practice, then in RACE DAY your MIRRORS and LOOKBEHIND button are your best friends
my finger is always on look behind button even when im in lead 5 sec or more i try to look behind as much as possible.
so some basic stuff when racing online is must to follow,to have more fun and awareness when racing.
racing is more about information you get to become better then speed you think you have
then there is virtual mirrors + real ones.virtual mirrors even show cars on side
then you have ingame radar.that line with position of cars like dots on the line(key number 4 or 6 i think)
less mistake you have better result will be..every one know that
i have some more things to add, dont have time now..

Hi guys, I've just been made aware of this thread & thought it appropriate to make a post.
First and foremost my most sincere apologise to Kiko for ruining his race. It was entirely my fault but I assure you in no way deliberate. At the time I had no idea what or whom had made contact with me but having watched the replay I can see how everything unfolded.
I am making no defence but would like to take the opportunity explain.
While it may well appear to Kiko (and others) of someone turning up with no experience or practice that is not the case. I have been both sim and a real life racer for over 20 years, (I'll let google/youtube find the real life stuff for you) and I am familiar with both track and car however it was a last minute opportunity to join you on Sunday night. Aware that it was a championship round my plan was to stay out of trouble and just make up the numbers with perhaps a good race with someone. I am well aware of how championships work and hopefully anyone here i have raced against will say I have always driven fairly and honourably.
In the lead up to the event I had been racing Dan Minges and was aware he was closing in on me. I had a poor exit out the last corner and was expecting a move from Dan into turn one hence I took a middle line down the straight making my intentions clear (to Dan). I had seen no blue flags at this point although I do admit having watched the replay there was one on the main straight (this could have been shown for Dan at this point and not me but I am not sure). Watching Dan closely in my rear left mirror I realised he wasnt going to make a move and I was clear however a car emerged from the pits and took all my attention going into turn one and as a result did not check my right mirror. I had absolutely no idea kiko (or anyone else) was on my inside and didnt even see a wheel of his car. I recovered ( as did kiko) from the incident and two corners later got a blue flag as kiko caught me again so i stayed right (off line) and immediately lifted as the replay shows at which point "part 2" of the matter came into play.
Once again Kiko entirely my fault and from someone who should have had more awareness given my experience in racing, I can only apologise to you.
As for your actions.. well top marks for actually admitting to it on a forum. I cant condone it but I can understand the red mist when things like that happen. It happened to me once in a real life Kart Race which later involved hands round a throat in the paddock ..my hands his throat....but that's another story.
So Sorry again and please don't give up on SR4L just because of some wee scotsman who cant concentrate or more than one thing at a time.....
anyone else want a slice of humble pie

I am sorry I let me anger come out thru my fingers I really only wanted to get rid of damage 50% so it didn't ruin races for people who want to have fun.
I will restrain my fingers in the future

Just two quick things.
As far as I know we are no longer setting rubber made from AI cars, servers should be configured to have rubber made from people on the server.
When comparing our friendly races with a soccer game between friends. I would compare it this way. Would you red flag a friend for holding the ball with his hands to avoid you from scoring? Obviously not.
If that became a constant way of acting then you would ask that person to stop doing that or to never come back.
We've never had that type of situation here. Incidents happen but we've never had someone being a constant trouble maker.
What I think is that his things happen very occasionally and due to that I don't consider in having to add more rules to the ones linked at the end of all race announcements.
Like John says, let's wait to see what happens the coming races.

i am regularly considered a trouble maker :o i think i might be one , actually its my job to be one - in another context of course 8)
i very often dont know what caused an accident - me, the other guy or girl, or a race incident - so i will try to apologize once for all of them - 'sorry'....i always am sorry no matter what happened and whether i say so or not ....nobody here ever wants to have a wreck, we should all know that

I admire a polite apology but personally I don't think it was necessarily your fault. You were racing for position with another driver. The other driver was a buffer between you and the lapping driver so you may not have been shown a blue flag. But even if, I think you have the right to continue your battle. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.) I can see how you had no idea Kristijan was diving for the corner. But good on you for apologizing. We all been instigators and victims. Stuff happens and it's rarely intentional. Usually just bad instant judgement or lack of awareness and we learn a lesson from it.

No I believe you need to give up your battle in favour of the blue flags. This may of actually happened in this instance Where Dan despite getting the better exit from the last corner, didn't go for a pass on me because he was being shown a blue flag for Kiko on his rear...it would make sense and explain why I didn't see any blue flags but Kiko could easily assume that I had been shown them.

By doing races and races we reach to know each other's way of driving.
That way you know (or expect to know) how every different driver can react depending on the actions, overtaking, lapping whatever.
Nikos, for example, if I am about to lap him he will always move out of the way as soon as he can do it safely. If I get to him in some difficult corners I know I have no need to make him know I'm there, he will let me in as soon as he is able to and I will wait for that difficult corners to end.
DjC (David Cruickshank), if he's coming fast and I'm under his attack it will be very difficult to hold him for many laps. I can try to block the inner side before the braking but he is very good at outer side overtakings and once he gets there all I can do is leave him that lane.
What I mean by this is that after long periods racing here we get to know each other's racing style better and learn to battle safier.
That doesn't mean that accidents will still occur. For example during the last reversed race, at the end of the first lap I went side by side with Harri and another car at the main straight. I was on the inner side and tried for a hard braking. But I forgot that my car's cambers weren't simetrical due to the nature of this track and my car moved to the right in the braking, climbing into the inner kerb, losing brake power and going into Harri, damagind his car.
That's one of the clearly avoidable accidents for which I take all the blame and help me learning race after race. Next time I get to the same situation I'll probably wait for them to finish their battle instead of going into a 3 car braking that has all chances to end in some way of disaster.
here you can see how it happened, starting 1:32:44

Hi Jonathan
i admire your apology to.this just prove when someone have experience in racing, that he can judge better situations and things what happen in race.
thank you for your thoughts and time for explaining your side of view.i really appreciate what you did here.
now you are my favorite person here thank you again
i must apologise to you for my behavior after contact we have.and i know your contact wasnt deliberate,so im sorry again.
i thought you saw blue flags, and at the end of the straight i thought you will lift because Dan was lifting at that point.
if you check in replay you can see im trying to show my self to you in mirrors.first i went left to Dan side so you can notice me,
then i went right to make pass.you will see me in both mirrors before turn.but yea you had not ideal situation to spot me.
but again this shows how good person you are,you could easy blame me for actions i did.our contact is nothing compared to what i did to you.
you have my respect for sure,im looking forward to race with you again.
real life situations like this one is not easy to swallow.i hope all was good for you and him after little chat with hands
but in game like this, its not that big deal for sure.. especially with person nice like you.
again, for me what you did here is more then any penalty you can get in sim racing if there was one
so i would like to give you my points from first race if that was possible because you deserve it
like penalty there must be some rewards for drivers like you.and penalty for drivers like me
so i will continue league if my point are transferred to you!!i hope its not big deal for Tim to change that.
i would really appreciate if that is possible.because i ruin your possibility to get some points in race two.
sincerely
Kristijan

Well as much as I would like to help you out Kiko I am not sure the program will allow me to do such a thing. I will look into it but I would like to think you will race with us for the joy of it. Do not leave us because of points. I get mad at things too but it is just fun racing with good guys.

race incidents are race incidents

Amazing readings on this thread, really pleased to be part of this League.
But lets talk about fun, for me, fun is to drive as better as possible, something not always true.
At Kyalami, my first race was a dissaster, poor concentration make me do a lot of mistakes, ending in P14.
For second race, I make a real effort to be aware and very concentrated about every thing, about my speed, about braking points, apex on every turn, car ahead and car behind, WHO were ahead and WHO were behind me and above all, been aware about my limits while driving.
In the end, I got P7 and felt a very deep sense of joy, the joy of driving as best as I can, fully aware all the race, making no mistakes and ruined no other race. Thats fun for me. But I respect the fact that for other people, maybe fun is something different.
And is also the reason why I m here on SR4L, because I race against very polite people, like no other league.

Is this where everyone is? No wonder all the servers are empty, you all in here writing long debates .
@KP, I think you may be expecting too much from everyone. The average age of the drivers here is old. Most guys here are even older than the cars we drive here.
Why do you think this league is run on a Sunday? it's because of all the Sunday drivers we got here So, don't be too hard on us if we bingle around
I do think we need to run a mod with a working horn but. I miss my horn. Ooooot ma way
