RE: SR4L F2 60's Fun Race League Rnd 6 Palm Beach Race Reports. - Fergy - 31-03-2013 Results are up on the league site. Great turn out again tonight. A lot of action on track and should make for interesting reading here. RE: SR4L F2 60's Fun Race League Rnd 6 Palm Beach Race Reports. - Paul Swire - 31-03-2013 Quali I wasn't expecting anything much for Quali due to not having any practice at all for this track with the F2's. Luckily I knew the track layout and wasn't worried too much about practicing. How wrong I was lol. These cars a handful around this track.I managed to get a reasonable time even tho I qualified last. Race 1 Starting from the back of the grid suited me, let the faster drivers get on with the race while I just concentrate on getting around in one piece. I pitted on lap 5 hoping to beat the rush, but to my surprise all the race leaders decided to pit at the same time although they were all a lap ahead of me (maybe 2) by this time. So it was quite crowded in the pits with a few fast guys around me :o I managed to get out of the pits without getting in the way of the leaders. I continued lapping and keeping out of the way of others as I was still getting used to driving these F2' around this track. I managed to finish albeit a few laps down but happy with that result. Gutted my team mate DJC did not make it back to the track in time for the race start after having a problem with the pits. Finished 15th. Race 2 Started from the back again with my team mate right behind me :o Knowing he was much faster than me I immediately moved over at the start to let him pass (Team Orders). Only to see him involved in the turn one pile up which I managed to avoid and found myself up to 9th place I lost a place and found myself sitting comfortably in 10th place with quite a large gap behind me. I again pitted early to avoid the rush and this time it worked for me, I was alone in the pits . After coming out of the pits I still found myself in 10th which made me feel great knowing the rest of the field still had to pit and I had an advantage for once. Then on the next lap everyone started pitting and I went in to fast for turn one and ended up sliding across the pit exit almost taking out the leading group as they exited the pits which included my team mate . I sustained quite a lot of damage in the crash and had no choice but to limp around the track back to the pits. This gave me a pit stop of 244 seconds!! That was my lead gone and ended up coming last out of the final runners. But did manage to finish just! Finished 13th.Race 3 Reverse Grid I started from the back again (this I requested knowing I was much slower than most) Well the flag dropped and all I could see in front of me into turn one was flying cars and wheels. I had a couple of low speed bumps with Neela and Mel I think then we all managed to get going again. Me and Neela had a few laps running together and it was quite a close battle until I lost it on turn one again and Neela went into the distance (well done Neela) managing to avoid me sliding off. I decided to pit after this and was set for trying to finish without any further incidents which I managed and finished 15th.Overall a great event and some great racing by all involved. I got 6 points for the team and DJC managed to pull out some amazing points even tho he was starting from the back of the grid in both of his races leaving us 12 points in front of Billy Cart Bangers (Boo Hiss). Well done Team Mate

The only two I need for myself is the leader lap, fuel information and sometimes the grid on the left side. I had turned on the other stuff for the broadcast. RE: SR4L F2 60's Fun Race League Rnd 6 Palm Beach Race Reports. - gorgias1976 - 01-04-2013 With summer time change, Me and my team came an hour late to the track (were expecting 20GMT for race start) and when we arrived qualy had already started. With cold muscles I went quick to the track, Luckily it was fully rubbered and I was able to quickly find good grip, bringing myself to second fastest 1.20.667 (a lot better than expected after struggling all week, looks all that rubber helped me a lot). Race1 -------- With the controversy of pole position starting at the green side of the road, I was able to get the traction of the rubbered side and therefor took the lead at race start. Marcel and I were racing about the same pace being in an average 1 sec gap. He went to pit at the end of lap 8, I went the next lap as I had planned a 9(50l)+6(34l) laps strategy. Maybe because of coming late to track my pit crew was a bit disconcentrated and were slow all weekend. The pitstop took 49 sec (46 is the best they can achieve) and at that moment I though I would be coming to racetrack behind Marcel. Luckily he was still a second behind after my pitstop. Then a sweaty battle became with him, always less than a second behind. The final lap was dramatic, heavy traffic in front. Also a smoky car came from the pits (not respecting the pit lane ???) and made it imposible to see a thing between turn 2 and 4. At turn 5 I was a little wide and we were side by side for a moment, as I had better traction due to coming from a wider line I was able to keep ahead. At the backstraight Marcel was at my slipstream, I went to the right to defend the inside line. He tried from the outside (One of Marcel's strongest points) But I was able to keep the speed and finally made it to the checkered flag first. Final lap (better seen in youtube at a bigger size): Race2 -------- I wasn't expecting that much difference in grip between race1 rubbered track and race 2 "filed" rubber. I suffered a lot in the first two laps and lost 5 places in there. As laps went by, grip started to come again and I was able to gaing back some places, until in my final lap before pitting, right behind Jason he run out of fuel right before the backstraight. His car suddlenly lost all speed. I tried to avoid him but our wheels touched and crashed. I damaged my car there but disabled the repair as it would've taken too much time lost. Went for the scheduled pitstop wich again was slow and took 50 seconds. The rest of the race was a battle with a damaged car to finish 4th (I guess) Jason runs out of fuel incident: Race 3 --------- Starting at the mid back of the grid. Mel Fisk in front of me did not make a good start. I was about to try through his left but then I remembered the Corvettes and a crash in a similar situation at race 3. So I stayed there just to try it in the braking were he brake quite early. Although I was well on the left to avoid incidents I was hit at my rear wheels and spun. Went back to racing where lap by lap I gained several positions. At a moment I was already third closing the gap to DjC who was battling Jason. At lap 8 I was about to catch them, so not wanting to lose time in their battle I decided to pit one lap early. Again my crew were not fast and took 49seconds to change tires and refuel (They must practice hard this two weeks). At the next lap I found myself virtually second, 2secs behind DjC. The remaining 6 laps was a fierce battle trying to cut that gap, but it remained the same till the end. Sweaty but happy to end up second. Then came the CTD and lost any replay file from this race. Note: I don't know if we have a rule about this, but I saw some car zig zagging on the backstraight trying to defend his position from others. Note2: In saved replays I don't get to see other car's skins, do you? RE: SR4L F2 60's Fun Race League Rnd 6 Palm Beach Race Reports. - Kalanur - 01-04-2013 Race 2, Sorry again to everyone involved ![]() Race 3 coming soon. " from 2012 FORMULA ONE SPORTING REGULATIONS RE: SR4L F2 60's Fun Race League Rnd 6 Palm Beach Race Reports. - Fergy - 02-04-2013 Quick race report, Qualifying, I managed a pb. I was a little nervous I thought I had cut T2 but a quick view of the replay showed a legal lap and a 1:21.121 Great Sportsmanship shown by Niko who let me know at the end of the Qualifying session he cut his fastest lap and after a quick review he lost one position on the grid. If you do think you have cut in Qualifying this is a great example of what to do, Well done Niko ![]() *Just to let everyone know again races are not restarted, it's terrible luck when something goes wrong but the show must go on. Unless of course we have a catastrophic failure. Sorry to DJC race 1 Please as SR4L members don't vote for restarts on race day's League or Fun Event, let admin deal with it. Race 1, Starting 4th on the grid I thought it would be hard to hold DC off in to turn one as he jumped me all week in practice with his flying starts. As luck has it I held position in to T1. DC chased me pretty hard for 5 or 6 laps before something happened to him easing the pressure some what. I did my best to keep up with Gorka and Marcel and they were with reach a the first pit stop but after that the flew off in what turned out to be a classic battle, well done Came home in third pretty happy. Race 2, I had a great battle with Jason, chasing him for 7 laps before pitting with Gorka hot on my heels. Unfortunately Jason ran out of fuel so the battle did get to continue. DC who had started from 14th was now hot on my tail and the fight for 2nd was on with Gorka pushing him. I managed to hold position to the end as too DC holding off Gorka. Well done Finished 2nd with a little luck on my side again.Race 3, Started badly from the back of the grid when on T4 Marcel and I locked wheels and spun, Sorry Marcel. It was a lot of fun trying to work my way up the field, Everon keeping me at bay for a few laps before I decided to pit early and hopefully jump him with a good out lap which worked. Tried in vain to keep up with Marcel but to no avail and finished 5th. All in all a fun nights racing and another great turn out given it was the Easter weekend, even Jesus found time to join us so we were truly blessed ![]() With the Nordscleife Challenge coming up next round and some specific rule changes for this race only (tba) it could be the make or break of your season, looking forward to it. That sounds scary. By the way, what is the penalty if someone cheats (deliberated or not) in his qualifying lap and that's known later after the races are over? It's just curiosity, not thinking in blaming anyone. RE: SR4L F2 60's Fun Race League Rnd 6 Palm Beach Race Reports. - 1959nikos - 02-04-2013 They take away his precious wheel and pedals and give it to the kid next door for starters. Then they cut his internet connection and all he has left is to watch with wife/girlfriend her favorit romantic film. Suicide is the result. RE: SR4L F2 60's Fun Race League Rnd 6 Palm Beach Race Reports. - Fergy - 02-04-2013 We may have Marshall's in the future but until then it's up to driver discretion. Like how Niko played it, you know if you've cut or not, you know if your close. Check your own laps and let admin know, you have 30 minutes session so plenty of time. If it's reported and found to be correct after the event than the driver in question is disqualified from that race. Penalties as per cut severity, the bigger the cut the more places you'll drop if admin are notified before the race. It was not my only cut in T2, the reason I reported it, was because it gave me a very fast lap. All of them (cuts) were accidental. I also got a Stop and Go penalty in race for trying to avoid people crashing, I think thats unfair. T2 is a difficult place not to make a mistake as we all know and Im sure nobody of us did it on purpose. So please people lets not start reporting everything now imho.
