RE: Assetto Corsa - currently on Steam Sale until end of Nov30th - Myles (Mr Fox) - 26-11-2021 If you’ve not tried our AC server - now is a great time to grab AC from Steam - very heavily discounted until the end of November 30th http://Steam Store Linky Although there is even more free (and high quality) content available for AC than for rf2, we *will* be using some of the paid-for content on our server. It is currently running content from the Dream Cars 3 pack (discounted to around £1/$1/€1) but we also have Porsche Packs 1-3 and dream packs 1&2 (and may add more…) Those that have tried AC recently swear by third-party add-ons such as the CSP (custom shader patch), Content Manager (CM) and SOL/Pure (weather extensions). These push the graphical realism waaaaay beyond rf2 and with a fraction of the PC/GFX resources required. FFB can be pretty stonking too - I’m finding really communicative effects such as wheel-locks, understeer etc. that you just don’t get in rf2 - and with certain versions of CSP, you get full rain FFB effects with localised puddles etc. etc. At £6.05 ($<10?) for the Ultimate pack - what’re you waiting for? RE: Assetto Corsa - currently on Steam Sale until end of Nov30th - DJCruicky - 28-11-2021 I did try buy the Ultimate Edition but it would not let me as I already own the Base game and one DLC. So I gave up. Not too worried, never played it much anyway. Great price, it's like the same cost you would pay for 1 rFactor2 track. FFB *can* be pretty impressive too (somewhat car dependant - and I do run an SC2 DD wheel so benefit a lot from subtle FFB effects) By comparison, I was just persuaded to try ACC again as it’s just had a major update and overhaul. On the lowest of low settings, I can actually now manage a Quick Race without desperately low frame rates (using screens - VR is still utterly hopeless) - but it doesn’t even rise to the graphical richness I get in rf2 (IMHO) - and at half the framerate (disclosure - I’m CPU limited more than GPU limited). Anyway, the SR4L server ‘only’ has the Porsche Packs and Dream Car packs (which also give you an excellent Brands Hatch and a not-quite-so-good Nords) - and you could pick those up for around a fiver. RE: Assetto Corsa - currently on Steam Sale until end of Nov30th - DJCruicky - 28-11-2021 The one DLC I have is Dream pack 1. The one with Nords. Not even installed at the moment. I did try ACC when they had a free weekend, but the input lag on my poor computer was too much. Low graphics detail made it look like I was playing in Google Maps .
