Hi guys, I've set servers having Long Beach though this track is still not sure for racing.

Regarding not the best graphics nor mesh, I'd like to know how you feel this track, is it (within reasonable) driveable enough for a race?

I think its very bumpy and slippy , i think there is a lot of potential for contact especially in the braking areas , also in some places you can hardly make out the brake markers they are so dark .
Personally i would say give this a miss until its developed further

I would add that the walls are the same color as the track. I'ts really hard to see where you are going. The pinball effect once someone hits a wall multiplies the problems. I agree we should make other plans.

I just tried the version of laguna i have stored , its version v1.01 by Senormen , its that bright Stevie Wonder could drive it no problem , had a search around and found this version of the same track which is better optimised for those who wish to keep thier sight https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DZMAe2gnx9VoOJFVjcu11ckD2Xu5F_lS/view

I've tested LB a reasonable amount. Yes it has some issues, graphically average, bumpy and so on. It would be a hard race for sure, a lot of follow the leader and waiting for a mistake. A real chance for some mixed results which is characteristic of a street circuit. I think it would be a great challenge. Forget trying to run your fastest lap around here you really need a comfortable race pace and a good rhythm.

Yes. Bryan and I have long discussed about it and we both agree in the opinion race should be held in Long Beach.

RE: Long Beach testing - sdancourt - 26-10-2018

Good to me

RE: Long Beach testing - edwin - 26-10-2018

not for me......it's quality is sub zero and crushes my wrists have fun out there guys

Edit: the above statement of me i stand for but i would like to say this. What is the point of setting up a server for members to test. Then get 3 negative opinions about the track saying we could better do an other track. And then 2 (be it admins) discuss the matter and decide we are doing this. My perception of democracy is different and i thought setting up that server was all about the league and its opinion, how wrong can one be.
Please don't get me wrong here i do appreciate all the admins do here, and i agree with @Fergy that a track like Long Beach has it's own challenges but come on guys. The road mesh is soooooo freaking bad.............

peace

Here is a couple of things to try.

This is my race set thus far. http://Race Set. Bump and rebound key here, also taking some of the sting out of gear changes.

Also my control settings in game. To much FFB here can make things even more difficult. Settings/Controls.

About laguna
You only need to search in tracks section in this forum Smile

Laguna 1.02 (dx11 update) http://www.simracers4life.com/forum/index.php?threads/laguna-seca.1730/#post-25653

Don't touch the little yellow bumps which artificially extend the apex of that one turn. They knock the front right off my March.

RE: Long Beach testing - Edvvc - 27-10-2018

I've looked everywhere I can think of for the Long Beach track to no avail. Steam workshop returns nothing when I search for it. Was a link to download the track posted?

RE: Long Beach testing - gorgias1976 - 27-10-2018

For some reason at this actual moment it doesn't appear if you search for it at the workshop. Here it is https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1228328190
