RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - gorgias1976 - 18-08-2015 I think we can have this separate threat to start talking about all the preparations for the next league - Tracks - F2 type (EVE, Spark, Winged Spark) - Dates - Other I'll be a bit busy this coming 4 weeks to be able to test new tracks. Working in the morning and packing things in the afternoon (moving to another apartment) and then travelling to PerĂº again this year as my wife's mother will be having an operation. So most probably until mid September I won't be able to get on the wheel again. Anyway, getting back into bussiness, time to get working on making a far even better league this autumm.
RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - DJCruicky - 19-08-2015 One possibility on a track Oran Park 2008 http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/25765-Oran-Park-2008-wip-18-08-15 RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - 1959nikos - 19-08-2015 gorgias1976 Wrote:I think we can have this separate threat to start talking about all the preparations for the next league I have opened a seperate thread for duration and dates http://www.simracers4life.com/index.php?topic=1262.0 RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - gorgias1976 - 20-08-2015 1959nikos Wrote:gorgias1976 Wrote:I think we can have this separate threat to start talking about all the preparations for the next league Fine. What do you people think if this time, instead of racing Le Mans as the Gran Finale of the season, racing maybe Belgium/Brianza... or another classic track that suits the F2 better? I dont think we should do Le Mans this season, OWs are completely out of place there. RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - gorgias1976 - 20-08-2015 Another thing to debate. Will each driver have to decide to drive Eve or Spark the whole season or can the car be changed from race to race? All have the same opportunity to pick the wrong one. I believe the opposite, people should stick to their cars they chose for whole season. What do we need skins if we dont, also we are not doing pickup races, we do a championship. RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - mel1c - 21-08-2015 A track we have not tried for you guys to consider: Road America. It is old enough to qualify. I have been there as a spectator in 19..., um, a long time ago. My only concern is that Jerry may have raced there and have an advantage ![]() THE HISTORY OF ROAD AMERICA In the early 1950's, sports car races were being run on the streets in and around Elkhart Lake. When the state legislature banned racing on public roads, a man named Clif Tufte organized a group of influential local citizens and leaders of the of the Chicago Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). This group developed plans and sold stock to build a permanent racecourse. The overall vision of Road America grew out of the dreams of Tufte, a highway engineer, who chose 525 acres of Wisconsin farmland outside the Village of Elkhart Lake for the track. Tufte's dream became a reality in April 1955, the natural topography of the glacial Kettle Moraine area was utilized for the track, sweeping around rolling hills and plunging through ravines. By September 10, 1955, the track's first SCCA national race weekend was held. At 4.048 miles in length, with 14 turns, the track is virtually the same today as it was when it was first laid out and is revered the world over as one of the world's finest and most challenging road courses. RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - DJCruicky - 21-08-2015 Good idea Mel, Found a good version here http://www.internationalsimracing.com/forum/index.php?topic=3471.0 Cars, my preference would be we only run one car. I mean all drivers are driving the same car as each other. So all cars for the season are all Eve OR all Spark. Just an idea. RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - gorgias1976 - 21-08-2015 Another track that was mentioned earlier was Searspoint. I think this track can be a good track for the F2s. RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - gorgias1976 - 21-08-2015 About the cars, we should decide wether to keep the same type for the whole season or not. Would the Winged Spark be consiedered 1 of the 3 choices or would it be just a feature available to Spark drivers? I mean, will we have 3 cars to chose: Eve, Spark, winged Spark? or will we have 2: Eve, Spark (winged or not depending on the driver's choice for every different track)? Anyway, if at the end everybody must go for a single option, winged spark is in average the best of the three only beaten in tracks like Brianza and maybe Belgium RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - jerry 33 - 21-08-2015 NO Mel, I haven't run there.... :o I like both sears point and road America.. I think 2 is best, Spark or winged Spark is just a configuration you can change, not a different car. RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - edwin - 22-08-2015 i'm in the one car for all season camp ;D. But i also think that the Spark drivers have to choose for wing or without wings for all season. Some tracks the winged ones will have advantage others they don't.....just my 3 cents 8) RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - Axe - 22-08-2015 DJCruicky Wrote:Cars, my preference would be we only run one car. Is it possible the set voting with some options mentioned here? I think it is the best way how to decide... RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - deecee52 - 22-08-2015 I am easy one this so i will go along with the majority RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - Paul Swire - 22-08-2015 Poll added to this thread Poll result will be final. Majority have said they would prefer one car for the season. RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - 1959nikos - 22-08-2015 I vote for Spark. I think Eve is faster but I really dig the sound of Spark and having to choose between plain and winged version makes it more interesting. Also I have skins ready for Spark
RE: Official F2 future league discussion thread - c.pucher - 23-08-2015 Hey guys ![]() As you will have noticed I missed a lot of races during the end of last season. Partly due to having no time but also because I didn't feel like it and preferred to do other things. Well, thats not how it should be and it feels a bit like I let you down and especially my teammate David. Now I know you will have understanding for this, because this is a place with awesome people, but still I don't like to let people down. There is just a bit of a change going on in my life and my priorities changed over the course of the last months. I haven't touched the wheel for quite some time now and even put it away for the first time in years as it was only gathering dust. I can't see this changing soon so I won't take part in the upcoming season, as I can't and don't want to commit myself to it cause I would eventually let you and myself down again. I may or may not jump in for a few races, I really can't tell but I know I will be welcome anytime, which is great ![]() I also want to let you know that this has nothing to do with sr4l. If there was a community which could change my mind on this it would be this one. Its such a lovely, awesome place here with a great set of people! Thats why I will keep around anyway, finish the program and having a nice chat now and then And if I feel like racing again be assured this will be the first place I drop in ![]() That being said I'm feeling good right now and am happy with the changes I made, so all fine ![]() Wish you guys a great season but as I said, I will be here anyway and keep in touch, just won't race for the time being. |
