RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - DJCruicky - 23-04-2023 I'll be on tonight from 7pm UK time. Any one wish to join me? If enough people turn up I'll do a few reverse practice races. RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Myles (Mr Fox) - 23-04-2023 I will be mildly intoxicated by then, sorryo_O I know others sim-race after a drink but I don’t think it’s fair or wise…
RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - DJCruicky - 23-04-2023 I think you drunk already, I have no idea what you just said .For the non drunk people I will be on after 7pm for fun. RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Edvvc - 23-04-2023 I will try to join, but am stumped how @deecee52 managed a 1:52.5 RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Myles (Mr Fox) - 23-04-2023 Edvvc, post: 32565, member: 582 Wrote:I will try to join, but am stumped how @deecee52 managed a 1:52.5You do realise that there is P2P enabled in these cars? Not saying he used it but on a fast track a judicious boost to get up to speed woukd do wonders for a lap time. RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Edvvc - 23-04-2023 Yes, I am using it RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Myles (Mr Fox) - 23-04-2023 Edvvc, post: 32567, member: 582 Wrote:Yes, I am using itOk - and are you using the V4 tyres? RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Edvvc - 23-04-2023 Yes. It seems its down to technique and setup. He was again very quick today on the server but didn't race. RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - deecee52 - 24-04-2023 I am doing the 32s without p2p , its down to setup and how you use it , last night was just playing with setup to see how car reacts when actually racing , will share when done RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - deecee52 - 25-04-2023 Here is a setup i have been using , bear in mind its set for my wheel rotation and pedals so you may need to alter yours RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Edvvc - 26-04-2023 Thank you @deecee52 that feels much better than the defaults. Haven’t got anywhere close to your times with my own attempts though! RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Edvvc - 27-04-2023 In 1983 they had many more braking markers before the first chicane than there were in the version of the track we raced at last time RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Myles (Mr Fox) - 28-04-2023 Edvvc, post: 32575, member: 582 Wrote:In 1983 they had many more braking markers before the first chicane than there were in the version of the track we raced at last timeThey’d probably been nicked by the Tifosi by ‘86
RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Myles (Mr Fox) - 03-05-2023 Wowsers! Although @DJCruicky said he was doing fine around this weeks track with a variation of @deecee52’s setup shared recently, I’ve been all at sea with any variation on a ‘normal’ setup until yesterday - can’t get @deecee52’s setup to turn in (which is usual for me - particularly on tight tracks) and most setups made me quite a passenger trying to thread through the tricky section just before the return to the cobbles… What has worked (moderately well) for me, however, is: i) Nearly max downforce - to pin the car ii) Nearly max ride height - to help cope with the bumps iii) Nearly max packers (which I almost always zero elsewhere) to try to avoid bottoming out - I noticed in telemetry that the front ride height can go negative…!) iv) Nearly minimum ARBs v) Much lower rebound than compression damping (slow and fast) to allow the suspension to rapidly droop and then absorb the big hits… vi) Mid-range diff settings to help stabilise the car into corners and on landing and to get traction again. I might still not be as quick as Ed and Cruicky but at least I can (generally) keep the car under control now! RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - DJCruicky - 03-05-2023 Thank you, I will try. I do have to tip-toe over the jumps, will see if the above helps. Will be hard to over take as there is just one line for most of this track and car is wide. See you in the wall .
RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - DJCruicky - 06-05-2023 Different car this week BMW_2002Tii 1.84 Track:- Road Atlanta 2022 Bring a friend. RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Edvvc - 06-05-2023 Lovely! RE: Post-F1 Wednesdays…. - Myles (Mr Fox) - 06-05-2023 Rarely have I had to work so hard to reduce front end grip! ![]() We’ll give the M1 a rest for a few weeks (at least) while I do some fiddling. If anyone would like to participate in offline testing of updates, please shout. One thing I’m working on right now is converting the P2P from an engine map based system to an ERS (I.e. hybrid battery/motor with regen) approach. If I get the balance right, it’ll add nicely to the tactical options…
